AI for Good Hackathon is a purpose-driven weekend event that brings together those who are passionate about working on data, Cloud, and AI technologies to create meaningful societal impacts. The hackathon is open to students from any discipline who are willing to use their domain knowledge and collaborate with other disciplinary students to build solutions that drive social good benefits.
AI for Good Hackathon is a 48-hour event that is typically hosted during the last weekend of September in Jacksonville, FL. The event starts at 4 PM on a Friday and ends at 4 PM on the following Sunday.
Please reach out to program directors if you have any questions or want to partner with us on the hackathon event.
We achieve the social good goals of the AI4Good Hackathon by partnering with nonprofit and public sector organizations that have wicked and vexing problems. We work with community organizations to create problem cases that are not straightforward to solve but have relevant disparate datasets. The problem cases formed for the hackathon tend to focus on persistent social or cultural issues that are complex and interconnected with other problems.
Hackathon participants are expected to formulate data-driven approaches, create social innovation prototypes, and present their solutions to demonstrate their utility in solving the problem case. We partner with Cloud service provider companies to give participants access to data science and AI technologies. We partner with power users of selected cloud technologies, data science & AI companies, and subject matter faculty experts to mentor and guide student teams tackling the problem cases during the weekend event.
