2019 Florida Data Science for Social Good - The Big Reveal Event

Description
Please join us for a presentation on the results of the 2019 Florida Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) projects. The DSSG interns have been working on the Cathedral Arts Project, Children's Services Council, Feeding Northeast Florida, GTM Research Reserve, and Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare projects during a 12-week intensive data science internship program offered at the University of North Florida. Each project addresses a wicked problem facing Jacksonville residents, such as arts education, health disparities, food deserts, environmental conservation, and behavioral healthcare. At the event, DSSG interns will discuss findings and reveal insights gained from the projects.
All are welcome to attend, and a reception will follow the presentations at the WJCT Studio.

FL-DSSG Directors conducted a workshop on how public sector organizations can build capacity for data-driven decision making in the Grant Professionals Association North Florida Chapter Meeting on October 18, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. 2018 NLP Logix Summer camp Students Presentation
Seven high school students from Duval County schools took part in the Data Science Summer camp organized by NLP Logix. Students learned data management using SQL, writing algorithms using Phyton, and data visualization using Tableau. Students presented their predictive models and results of the data science projects completed during the camp at the UNF FL-DSSG on July 26th, 1 PM to 2 PM.
